As the ChatGPT outage continues, it seems frustrated users are making their way to alternative platforms.
Little-known chatbot site Kognitium claims to be experiencing ‘high traffic’ due to the outage, which has affected ChatGPT since around 8am BST.
Kognitium, owned by a California company of the same name, hasn’t disclosed exact traffic numbers, but tells users ‘you may not need to use ChatGPT anymore’.
In an X post, Kognitium said: ‘We are working hard to keep things running smoothly.
‘We apologize if the performance has been less than ideal.

Of course, Kognitium – one of the numerous chatbot alternatives – may be trying to capitalize on ChatGPT’s problems with a well-timed post.

Thousands are being forced to do without ChatGPT or head to alternative chatbots on Monday due to the ongoing ChatGPT outage.
People took to X (Twitter) to share their frustration at having to ‘think for themselves’ and use their brains in the absence of the AI tool.
On X, one user said: ‘ChatGPT is down! How dare they force me to think for myself!!!’
Someone else posted: ‘I’m asking ChatGPT why it’s not working but I’m not getting an answer!’

Yet another posted: ‘ChatGPT is down, and it’s totally ruining my morning. I really need to stop relying on this thing so much.’
According to DownDetector, hundreds of people globally have been affected since about 8am BST.
Down Detector gets network status updates from various sources including social media and reports submitted to its website.
The site reveals that 79 per cent of those affected said they had problems with ChatGPT generally.

Meanwhile, others were more specific – 15 per cent said they had trouble with the app and 6 per cent were unable to use the website.
OpenAI, the firm behind ChatGPT, has acknowledged the outage with a statement saying: ‘We are currently investigating this issue.’
On OpenAI’s official ChatGPT status page, the firm said: ‘ChatGPT is unavailable for some users.’
It continued: ‘We are currently investigating this issue.’
MailOnline has contacted OpenAI for further comment about the cause of the outage and how many people have been affected.
