It’s a meal that many of us look forward to all year.
But what exactly are the best items in a British Christmas Dinner?
While many of us see the Roast Turkey, Goose or Ham as the main event, others prefer the trimmings, whether it’s pigs in blankets, stuffing, or even Brussels Sprouts.
With just 10 days to go before we get to devour our Christmas Dinner, MailOnline asked ChatGPT to rank the elements on the meal.
So, do you agree with the AI chatbot’s ranking?
With just 10 days to go before we get to devour our Christmas Dinner, MailOnline asked ChatGPT to rank the elements on the meal
To get to the bottom of the Christmas Dinner ranking, MailOnline simply asked ChatGPT: ‘How do you rank the elements of a British Christmas dinner?’
Within seconds, the AI bot began to reply, diplomatically stating that ‘the ranking of elements can vary based on personal preferences and regional traditions.’
However, it eventually landed on 10 key items.
Roast Turkey was named the best element, although ChatGPT said that Roast Beef, Goose, or Ham would also suffice.
‘The roast main course takes the top spot and is often the centerpiece of a British Christmas dinner,’ ChatGPT said.
Stuffing took the second spot, described by the AI bot as a ‘popular and flavorful accompaniment to the roast.’
The ‘beloved side dish’ of roast potatoes came in third place, with ChatGPT stipulating that they must be ‘crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside,’
Meanwhile, ‘rich and flavorful’ gravy was deemed the fourth most important element on Christmas Dinner.
The meal just wouldn’t be complete without Pigs in Blankets, which came in fifth place.

And while they can be divisive, Brussels Sprouts were ranked as the sixth most important element, followed by Carrots and Parsnips, and Mashed Swede and Mashed Potatoes.
The final element of the main meal was Cranberry Sauce.
‘A sweet and tangy addition to complement the meats, cranberry sauce typically holds a lower but important rank,’ ChatGPT said.
Finally, the AI bot says that the main course should be followed by either Christmas Pudding or Mince Pies.
‘Traditional Christmas desserts are served at the end of the meal, providing a sweet and festive conclusion,’ it said.
You might be shouting at your computer over the lack of certain items, whether it’s Yorkshire Puddings or Cauliflower Cheese.
However, ChatGPT added: ‘It’s important to note that the ranking can vary from one household to another, and individual preferences play a significant role in determining the importance of each element in a British Christmas dinner.’
The ranking comes shortly after MailOnline tasked ChatGPT with concocting the perfect Christmas sandwich.
Unsurprisingly, the bot said that Roast Turkey – either sliced from the leftover Christmas turkey or freshly roasted – is the number one ingredient in the sandwich.
Stuffing and cranberry sauce are next up on the list.

‘Traditional sage and onion stuffing add a flavorful and festive touch,’ ChatGPT explained.
‘A generous spread of cranberry sauce adds sweetness and complements the turkey.’
Meanwhile, what good Christmas sandwich would be complete without a drizzle of gravy?
ChatGPT claims that this element is crucial for ‘extra moisture and flavor.’
Of course, bread features on the list, with ChatGPT suggesting a ‘hearty, rustic bread or a soft roll to hold all the ingredients togeter.’
And finally, the AI bot suggests a somewhat unusual element – cheese.
‘Optional, but some people like to add a slice of brie or a mild cheese to balance the flavors,’ it explained.
