People turn to AI for career advice, meal ideas and travel tips, but with the new year started, DailyMail.com asked popular chatbots for achievable resolutions.
Research shows that 23 percent of Americans ditch their New Year’s resolutions by the end of the first week, and 43 percent quit by the end of January.
The failures stem from people ‘thinking too big,’ but Google’s Bard, Microsoft’s Bing and ChatGPT have curated 10 realistic but unconventional resolutions for 2024.
These included hosting a monthly themed dinner party to build stronger bonds with others, eating a vegan meal each week to improve health and starting a digital detox.
Host a themed dinner party every month
Hosting dinner parties would not only be fun but also create strong bonds with friends and family
Google’s Bard said: ‘Host a themed dinner party every month.
‘From medieval feasts to sci-fi soirees, let your imagination run wild and create unique culinary experiences for your guests.’
The bots said it was a great way to keep strong social ties while letting loose and destressing.
Research your family history
Bard said: ‘Trace your family history and build a family tree: Uncover your roots, delve into forgotten stories, and connect with distant relatives for a fascinating journey into your past.
‘Happy New Year’s, and may your resolutions be as unique and exciting as you are!’
Have one plant-based day per week
ChatGPT said: ‘Once a week, challenge yourself to eat only plant-based meals.
‘It’s a fun way to explore new recipes and cuisines while contributing to a healthier lifestyle and the environment.’

Start a one-sentence journal
ChatGPT also suggested starting a one-sentence journal where you write a single sentence each day.
ChatGPT said: ‘Write one sentence every day about something you were grateful for or something interesting that happened.
‘It’s a low-pressure way to keep a journal.’
Start a digital detox
Interestingly, ChatGPT suggested committing time to a screen-free ‘digital detox’ could be an exciting and unusual New Year’s resolution for a web application.
ChatGPT said: ‘Commit to one day a week or a few hours each day without any digital devices, including phones, computers, and TV.
‘Use this time for reading, meditating, or exploring nature.’
Write a handwritten letter every week
Similarly ironic, many of the suggestions from the neural network-based AI systems suggested that users embrace a more analog way of living.
Claude.AI, a chatbot backed by Google and Amazon, suggested: ‘Write and mail a handwritten letter every week – Reconnect thoughtfully with faraway friends or family the old-fashioned way.’
Conquer a childhood fear
Claude suggested that conquering a childhood fear could be good, if unconventional, resolution

Claude said: ‘ Face something that has loomed over you since youth, like spiders, public speaking, roller coasters or the ocean.’
Invest in stocks
DailyMail.com asked Microsoft’s Bing with ChatGPT for recommendations: unlike other chatbots, it offers citations from live internet sites and bases its recommendations on facts found online.
Bing suggested that a Forbes survey showed that 38.2 percent of people plan to focus on finances in 2024.
Bing said: ‘Improve your financial situation: Another popular resolution is to enhance your finances.
‘You could consider creating a budget, saving money, or investing in stocks.’
Become a human calendar
Bard suggested becoming a human calendar by training your brain to recall events on any given day of the week
DailyMail.com asked Google’s Bard to come up with interesting and unconventional New Year’s resolutions.
Google hopes to reach two billion consumers with Bard and roll it into its existing Google Voice Assistant.
Bard suggested: ‘Train your memory to recall the day of the week for any given date. Your friends will be amazed (and slightly creeped out).’
